Product Details

Knife gate valves are similar in design to gate valves and were initially developed for use in the pulp and paper industry. As the name implies, these valves can cut through thick, porous media that may contain a high concentration of suspended solids (such as dense, sewage sludge) which had caused problems with valves not seating completely and thus leaking. Its unique construction enables it to cut through thick mixtures and seal reliably where conventional valves fail.

1.‌Knife-Edge Disc (Gate)‌
1.1Features a ‌sharpened, beveled-edge gate‌ (typically 3-8mm thick) that shears through solids (e.g., pulp, sludge, granules).
1.2Material: Hardened stainless steel (SS316), carbide-clad, or coated for abrasion resistance.

2.‌Unibody or Split-Body Design‌
2.1‌Unibody‌: Compact, ideal for space constraints (common in mining).
2.2‌Split-Body‌: Allows seat replacement without pipe disassembly.

3.‌Sealing Mechanism.‌
3.1 ‌Elastomer Seats‌: Urethane/NBR seats provide bubble-tight shutoff (ASME Class VI).
3.2 ‌Metal-to-Metal Seats‌: Optional for high-temperature (>200°C) or corrosive media.
3.3Bidirectional sealing variants prevent upstream/downstream leakage.

4.‌Cavity-Free Flow Path‌
Smooth, full-bore passage minimizes pressure drop and prevents clogging.
