Double eccentric (or double offset) butterfly valve is a type of valve that uses a disc (the butterfly) that rotates on an offset axis to control flow. This design minimizes contact between the disc and the valve seat during operation, reducing wear and friction, which leads to lower operating torque and longer service life.
